Anatomy Of A World Champion
2006 was Michael Schumacher's last season in Ferrari. The German driver took his leave of his fans with great authority: after recovering 25 points to Alonso, he fought for the title until the end, without however being able to get the better of it. The Ferrari of that year, the 248 F1, was equipped with a 2400cc V8 engine, which replaced the 3-liter 10-cylinder abolished by regulation. With the 248, signed by Aldo Costa, Ferrari tried to restore a mechanical-aerodynamic balance that had been obtained with the 2004 F2004 but that had instead failed with the disappointing F2005 of the following year. The last success of the 248 happened with Felipe Massa at the Brazilian Grand Prix, at the end of the season.
